14/30 - 30 x 30 Challenge - Fall Capsule Wardrobe

If I were actually leaving my house today, then I would freeze; but luckily I am plugging away downstairs preparing for a big meeting in Houston next week.  I love the cobalt and yellow together - bright and happy.

I have been following the blogger Kendi Everyday for a while now and several other of my favorite blogs have done similar challenges.  This is the 30 x 30 challenge. The rules are simple: See day 1 for the all the details!

I am thankful for the color yellow! If you have read any of my posts, then you have probably figured this out.  I am thankful that the Lord gave me the color yellow.  It reminds me of sunshine, happiness, and buttercups.

Once in a Blue Moon

I am usually pretty on-top of things.  I am a multitasker at heart and keep everyone on track and moving in the right direction, but today was not my best day as a Mom. My oldest daughter is on Fall Break today. I took off work Friday to spend the day with my girls, and you saw my posts from this weekend, but I needed to work today and thought I would take her into daycare. After 20 minutes of traipsing around the school peering into windows and doors (like a total creeper) I realized that there were no cars in the parking lot.  Not a single one!  Hmmm..... I called the daycare (located inside her elementary school) and there was no answer.  At this point,I realize that I have made a critical mistake.  There is no daycare today.  So she is chilling with me Today.  I pulled out the "rainy day" stash of toys that I keep in the top of the closet for those days when you need instant and prolonged engagement from your child.  Yup! It's one of those days, but more importantly what am I wearing.  It's mid-October, and the beginning of this week is supposed to be above average temps in the high 70s low 80s.  I chose a knit sundress and paired it with a cardigan and boots. Not sure I accomplished a fall-ish feel, but I refuse to wear a sleeveless dress and flip flops in mid-October. Not my favorite, but it's comfortable and more importantly my feet didn't get wet traipsing thru the grass all morning.  YAY!
